OUR Story
Selfe Wellness is a wellness studio situated in Uptown Nola.

Ceret, the founder, initiated Selfe Wellness due to her struggle with fibroids, experiencing recurring BV, challenging cycles, constant bloating, and persistent discomfort.

In November 2018, she began steaming and immediately noticed the absence of cramps and BV. During her second visit, the vision to create a V-steam location in Louisiana struck her. After a seven-day clarity fast in February 2019, she signed her lease, and Selfe Steam Nola (original name) was established.

We opened our doors on May 1, 2019, as the first V-Steam studio in the area. Although other businesses offered v-steams, it wasn’t their primary focus. Our aim was to provide a luxurious space for women to engage in uncomfortable discussions, addressing issues like vaginal odor and proper intimate area cleansing. Beyond personal hygiene, we also offer workshops, classes, meditation, and more, understanding the power of rebuilding the village.

In September 2019, Selfē Products began. Our clients sought more, and we had followers out of town eager to support the brand. We started with three products: body butter, bath salts, and facial steam herbs.

During the 2020 shutdown, while uncertain about sustaining the business, Ceret found herself with surplus ingredients to produce hand soap and hand sanitizers. A big order got canceled due to the pandemic-induced shutdown, yet Selfe Steam Nola was among the few businesses carrying essential sanitizers and natural disinfectant sprays, which flew off our shelves. We gained attention from blogs like Black Enterprise, Vogue and Travel Noire, featuring our hand sanitizers.

Ceret utilized this time to expand her product line, finally creating the one product she desired most: the intimate wash, a gentle soap that aids women in proper cleansing without disrupting their pH.

Later that year, Ceret faced a tremendous loss – her father, her strongest supporter. Despite the urge to quit, she realized this business held greater significance. She channeled her pain into purpose.

In 2021, she began advocating self-care, meditation, and the importance of taking time for oneself to reset, drawing from personal experiences of loss.

In June 2021, Selfe Foundation was established to educate on personal hygiene and offer natural products to those in need.

August 29, 2021, brought another life-altering event: Hurricane Ida. It ravaged Selfe Steam Nola's original location but not our spirit.

Our journey continued as we relocated to the New Orleans area in October 2022. While sales were initially slow, we shifted to a retail format for appointments only, offering meditation classes and product-making sessions. Additionally, we cater to corporate events.

We welcome you to our village and are grateful for the opportunity to serve you!
